The 2020 Immigrant Journey Awards Gala celebrated Immigrant Heritage Month and the positive contributions of immigrants to north Texas region and the United States.
The Immigrant Journey Awards also supports the American Dream Scholarships given to high school seniors who are immigrants or children of immigrants. 2020 scholarship winners were Rahmo Bare, Jose Chiquito, Rebeca Travino, Leslie Compean, and Noora Hagar.
The winners of each award category were:
Immigrant Entrepreneur Award – Veronica Sauto, Nehme William Elbitar
Immigrant Professional Excellence Award – Dr. Feshaha Gebrehiwot, Anslem Oshionebo
Immigrant Spirit Award – Mohammed Farshori, Sudip Adhikari
Immigrant Advocate Award – Adan Gonzalez, Mary Ann Thompson-Frenk
